Sample Itinerary

Our planners are hands on and have toured Central Australia many times. Deal direct with your personal organiser. A sample itinerary for an 8 or 14 day central Australia tour includes

Day 1: Depart school (NSW) and travel to Cobar

Day 2: Travel from Cobar to Peterborough SA visiting Broken Hill on the way

Day 3: Travel from Peterborough to Coober Pedy via Port Augusta and Woomera. Opal cutting demonstrations and overnight underground accommodation

Day 4: Travel from Coober Pedy to Yulara-NT. Stay 2 nights and watch the sunset over Uluru

Day 5: Watch sunrise over Uluru and visit the cultural centre. Adventure around the base of Uluru on a guided tour. Visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)

Day 6: Depart Yulara and make the short journey to Kings Canyon for the night at Kings Canyon Resort. Hike the canyon on a guided tour

Day 7: Travel to Alice Springs, stopping at Stuarts Well Camel Farm. Arrive in Alice Springs and visit the Flying Doctors Service

Day 8: Visit School of the Air and Reptile Museum. If continuing, stay in Alice another night.
– RETURN FLIGHT HOME FROM ALICE SPRINGS OR CONTINUE ONWARDS

Day 9: Depart Alice Springs and journey north towards Tennant Creek and overnight at Barkley Roadhouse

Day 10: Continue east through central Queensland to Cloncurry via Mt Isa

Day 11: Travel from Cloncurry to Longreach, visiting Walkabout Creek Hotel from Crocodile Dundee the movie. Visit Winton, home of Waltzing Matilda. Travel onto the Stockman’s Hall of Fame or QANTAS Museum in Longreach

Day 12: Depart Longreach and travel to Mitchell. Take in the thermal artesian spa’s on arrival

Day 13: Continue on to Narrabri via Goondiwindi. Overnight in Narrabri

Day 14: Travel from Narrabri via The New England Plains back to school

Flexible travel options are available for all our adventure tours. Our tours travel in highly maintained five-star coaches with seatbelts, air conditioning, DVD players and most importantly an onboard rest room, no shovel required.

Our option to either fly in or fly out, gives you the opportunity to custom plan the tour package to suit your timing and budget needs. Transport travel options means that we can plan your tour to include travel only by coach, travel one way by coach and fly back, or to fly to Alice Springs or Darwin and travel back by coach.

Accommodation on our tours can be varied so check with our tour planners for which options suit your needs and budget. Staying in campgrounds experienced in providing facilities for school aged children, the easy set-up of our purpose made safari tents allows the students to experience a true outback safari adventure. There is also the opportunity to sleep underground when in Coober Pedy, and some campgrounds provide options for cabin or dorm style accommodation.

The quality of food on any school trip food is crucial to keeping staff, students and parents happy. We pride ourselves in going beyond just basic camp food and our tasty nutritious meals are the backbone of these great trips. Our purpose-built camp kitchen trailer provides our chef and crew with the resources to serve a range of great meals that can cater to meet many special dietary requirements.

Terms & Conditions

Deposits: A non-refundable $200 deposit is required at time of booking to confirm your booking. No bookings can be confirmed without a deposit. Balance: The final balance is due 60 days prior to the tour departure. We will send you a reminder letter two weeks in advance to remind you. We accept cash, cheque, EFTPOS, direct credit or credit cards (MasterCard or Visa). Cancellation Policy: Cancellation fees will be applied if you have to cancel your booking.

Notice Fee:
60 + days non-refundable deposit.
30-59 days 50% of tour price + $10 per person cancellation fee
Within 30 days 100% of tour price
In the event we are able to transfer your booking to another passenger, the cancellation fee will be $200 tour deposit.

Fares Include: Air Conditioned Luxury 5 Star Coach travel, motel accommodation, entrance fees and meals as stated in the itinerary. Alteration of Itinerary: We reserve the right to alter itineraries without notice due to availability, weather, road conditions or any other reasons we perceive to be in the best interests of our passengers. Seating and Seat Rotation: Seating is rotated in a random order at the direction of the Coach Driver/Tour Guide to ensure all passengers enjoy a variety of seating. Single Supplement: Limited single supplement is available. Single supplement gives the passenger exclusive use of a motel room and is indicated by the single supplement price on the itinerary. It does not guarantee sole seating on the coach. Smoking: Government regulations prohibit smoking on all modes of transport. Travel Insurance: We recommend you take out travel insurance to protect your investment in your holiday. Baggage: All baggage is entirely at owner’s risk.

Passengers must be able to:
• Walk 10 minutes without having to stop or sit down and rest
• Walk up an incline equal to a flight of stairs, without stopping
• Stand for 30 minutes, without needing to sit down
• Walk over uneven ground with no paving
• Get in and out of transportation unassisted
• Manage your own luggage
