Our planners are hands on and have toured Central Australia many times. Deal direct with your personal organiser. A sample itinerary for an 8 or 14 day central Australia tour includes
Day 1: Depart school (NSW) and travel to Cobar
Day 2: Travel from Cobar to Peterborough SA visiting Broken Hill on the way
Day 3: Travel from Peterborough to Coober Pedy via Port Augusta and Woomera. Opal cutting demonstrations and overnight underground accommodation
Day 4: Travel from Coober Pedy to Yulara-NT. Stay 2 nights and watch the sunset over Uluru
Day 5: Watch sunrise over Uluru and visit the cultural centre. Adventure around the base of Uluru on a guided tour. Visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)
Day 6: Depart Yulara and make the short journey to Kings Canyon for the night at Kings Canyon Resort. Hike the canyon on a guided tour
Day 7: Travel to Alice Springs, stopping at Stuarts Well Camel Farm. Arrive in Alice Springs and visit the Flying Doctors Service
Day 8: Visit School of the Air and Reptile Museum. If continuing, stay in Alice another night.
– RETURN FLIGHT HOME FROM ALICE SPRINGS OR CONTINUE ONWARDS
Day 9: Depart Alice Springs and journey north towards Tennant Creek and overnight at Barkley Roadhouse
Day 10: Continue east through central Queensland to Cloncurry via Mt Isa
Day 11: Travel from Cloncurry to Longreach, visiting Walkabout Creek Hotel from Crocodile Dundee the movie. Visit Winton, home of Waltzing Matilda. Travel onto the Stockman’s Hall of Fame or QANTAS Museum in Longreach
Day 12: Depart Longreach and travel to Mitchell. Take in the thermal artesian spa’s on arrival
Day 13: Continue on to Narrabri via Goondiwindi. Overnight in Narrabri
Day 14: Travel from Narrabri via The New England Plains back to school
