No, the Sydney Express leaves Port Stephens in the morning and returns in the afternoon. There is only one service a day.

No, our Sydney service is a private chartered service which means Opal is not accepted.

You can only board the Sydney coach and pay for a one way ticket in cash. All return bookings must be pre-booked and paid.

We have a Public Bus service that runs to a timetable, Monday – Sunday. These services accept Opal cards and debit/credit cards (using payWave) only. Cash is no longer accepted on any TfNSW service.

No, cash payments are not accepted.  Only contactless payments are accepted (Opal, visa, mastercard & AMEX). There is no concession / pensioner discounts. It is a flat rate based on the distance you travel.

No, you must apply for these opal cards online at These will then be sent to your given address. We can only issue Adult and Child / Youth opal cards.
